Five Colorado Intimates

Beyond the grand mountains, valleys, peaks, lakes and ranches, Colorado is just as great to investigate intimate scenes that equally reflect Colorado's grandeur. Here's a small collection from my trip with Dean and Larry:

Really like the 2nd one - that bokeh really brings out the branches you were featuring in this shot. Would love to know more about lens and settings if you care to share that info. The last one is particularly nice as well.

I hate it when you post this many neat shots and make us choose favorites. This is a great set across the board.

Kyle, thanks. On #2, when I viewed it in the viewfinder, I showed Dean right away. One of those that turn out even better than you'd hoped.

Sunny: that's very kind, thank you. I was attracted first at the glow on the left hand side, but for once didn't fall into trap of going only for the gold -- when I saw the companion in the background, and they lined up well. I call them "Fore and Aft".

Bill, thanks for the kind words.

Mike: Thanks, I appreciate your comments. Here are the settings:

#2 5D4 with Canon 70-200 F2.8 Mark II; F 3.2 1/80 at 200 mm

#3 Same F3.2 1/125 at 145 mm

#5 Same F3.5 1/50 at 105 mm I was looking up at some birch trees in a grove at the end of County Road 7 outside Ridgeway and almost walked face first, straight into this tree that had fallen over, parallel to the ground at eye level. The yellow leaf was there (but on a rough spot right above where I photo'd it.) I felt it wasn't cheating too much to move it about 2" down to be more visible in the photo. What struck me was the texture of the tree with the soft, yellow reflection of the birch trees that surrounded the scene.

Really cool work Bart!

#1 and 2 are my favorites, but they are all really nice intimates.

Great set Bart.. #1 is my favorite. While the grand landscapes of the area are certainly magnificent, these more intimate looks tell a great story. We all go and shoot the big picture and while they are all slightly different they are pretty much the same. These types of images are all unquie and tell a more personal story of the experience.
Extremely well seen ! You have a great ability to find these images.

Dean
