The Contrasts of Zion

One of the fun parts about Zion N.P. are the amazing contrasts between the riparian environment along the Virgin River and the towering cliff walls above. In this case i liked the vertical pine forests on the cliff walls and the riverside vegetation down at the bottom.

This really shows that contrast so well. This has perfect lighting Alan, it's as if the place is glowing.

Thanks Jim - I had some nice backlighting with this scene which is always a treat in that place.

The lighting brings out the contrast between the lush greens and the red rocks so well.

Thanks Jameel - this was right next to the shuttle stop so an easy one to shoot once i spotted the light.
