Tarantula Nebula

I have decided that this season I'm going to try to focus on just a few targets and really collect a lot of subs on them, rather than going for quantity over quality of different targets. My second narrowband target of the year is this old favourite of mine, the wonderful Tarantula Nebula, which I shot for three nights (though the third night wound up a bit of a dud due to technical malfunctions). This represents 19 hours or so of integration time, which for a relatively bright target like this should be OK. I may go for a bit more before counting this one as being done.

Hey James that's a great idea, to spend a year to gather more detail. And this one is a beauty, and one that I can't capture, so it's great to see you imaging objects that I can only dream about.

I like the amount of detail in this.

James,

Once I got my gear situated on a pier and running remotely, that has pretty much been my appreoach as well. I would rather get one target that has a really deep and detailed dataset to work with than get 5 targets that are all of a lesser collection duration.

In this case you are off and running. Such a cool object, especially with data like this.
