Seasonal Defiance

Columbines normally are a ways out from blooming this time of year unless you are looking at specimens that were grown in a nursery to sell at a grocery store. I was wandering into the store to grab some groceries and got sidetracked when I saw pots on display with these wonderful looking flowers.

Super cool Alan! This is definitely not a color that is seen up in the mountains in Colorado. It's pretty cool how they look.

Nice complement of colors. I like the subtle shading in the blooms.

Thanks Jim - there are a lot of hybrids of these plants as they are quite promiscuous when planted together in a garden bed. We don't have any that look quite like these but my wife did plant 3 different hybrids. We now have cross breeds between all of them.
