A Scene Along the Smith

A fall scene from just over the lower Smith River near Reedsport Oregon. Single frame at 70mm.

Shows how a drone's perspective is useful. Standing at the river's bank, those beautiful reflections would be minimized. And that's the most attractive part of this scene IMO.

Thanks Michael - Exactly why I launched my drone in the first place. I didn't really have a place to stand alongside the road that would have any reflections at all. I had just driven past this scene desperately looking for a place to pull off and by the time I found a spot I was well past what I wanted to shoot but happily I did have my drone and could fly back to get a shot of the scene from a spot I never could have shot from anyway as my levitation skills are lacking.

I love the separation that this shows. It's super cool Alan.

Thanks Jim - waterways along the coast range are the best places for deciduous trees and fall leaf shows as is quite evident in this image.

Beautiful scene and the river with the reflections really make this image shine.

Thanks Jameel - it was a good time to have my drone along. I spotted the colors and reflections driving up the road on the far side of the river but there was no place to stop.
