He is not Happy for November

This turkey is not looking too happy as it turned November! Even though this guy is a wild turkey, he probably has lot's of cousins that won't make it past Thanksgiving.

It's funny in and around the town of Greeley Colorado where my daughter lives, there are flocks of turkeys that roam the city, going around highly populated neighborhoods. This particular flock is interesting in that it's always hanging around an area just before the nature area that I go to a lot, but they never actually go into the Nature area. This is a more rural area, still a lot of homes, but homes with larger lots, so it has a more natural feel to the images.

Nice shot of this hen. They are interesting creatures around human populations - those that get used to being in and around our structures and accommodations don't seem all that bothered about it. You can't exactly walk right up to them but they don't seem completely freaked when we are nearby.

There is a flock of them that hang out in the Bullard Beach State Park campground near Bandon and they strut through the campground like they own the place.

Thanks Alan! It's amazing how close you can get before they will scoot off.

How interesting that there was a flock down in Bandon.
