Middle of Nowhere

I camped here while on my way to New Mexico. Awesome rocks and a clear, dark sky.

Luv the milky way shot. Terrific foreground.

Middle of nowhere describes these landscapes well. The contrasts of the rock colors reminds me of the area around the Bisti.

How interesting Michael! I am trying to place this, but from my travel's in New Mexico, I have found there are such cool rock structures scattered all across the state.

Awesome job with the Milky Way and with the lighting of the ground. I like the very natural feel to this. My favorite of these though may be #1, with #5 being a close 2nd. I really like the composition, I like the soft light that brings out such cool little details in the rock itself.

Really a great set - love them all, especially that perfectly framed final shot of the Milky Way!

This place is in southern Nevada, but it does seem a bit Bisti-esque!. I try to avoid traveling on the interstates and look for cool places like this where I can camp right at a photogenic location. Takes longer to get there, but much more rewarding than a long day on I5, I15, or I25.
