My falls today is another scene from the Columbia River Gorge in the area near Wahkeena and Multnomah Falls. This is Mist Falls which apparently does flow year round although I showed a different view of these a few weeks ago and mislabeled them as Dalton Falls does not. There aren't a lot of views of Mist falls from the roadways and trails although you do get a glimpse of them from the I-84. The small falls in the upper left are the same ones I showed a telephoto panorama of last week. We are finally getting several days of dry weather this week so those falls will be dry by this weekend along with quite a few other ephemeral falls.

Pile on with your own waterfall imagery.

Punch bowl falls back before the fire and even before a big log fell across obstructing the view.
Classic view. I have no idea what this scene looks like after the Eagle Creek fire. I do know that this area got burned down to bare rock but there should be plants and moss moving back in by now. The trail has been a mob scene ever since it reopened.

Phantom Falls -

Since this is only rain fed, it dries up quickly.
We had originally planned two weeks prior when it was full.....But plans had to be changed :(
To get to the base of the falls, had to climb down a sketchy-steep rock trail, about 100 yards- with a knotted rope the last 20ft.
My Dr BIL, said "we can do it". But were sworn to secrecy not to tell the wives

Sweet - always fun to catch a shot of the falls that aren't always there :)

These are from Rifle Falls state Park a few miles north of Rifle Colorado. The first image shows the 3 falls that are the feature of the Park and the second image ia close up
of the base of the center fans.
Sweet - a set of falls I have never seen before. Do all three falls flow year round or are they dependent on snowmelt?

I have only been there in spring and fall, but the part is open year round. Their web site shows pix with snow and ice and the water still flowing!
