Southern Scotland has valleys, Northern Scotland, the pretty bit, has Glens (Narrow steep sided valleys) and Straths (wide valleys). Northern England has Dales. Here are a few.

Glen Strathfarrar an Oxymoron
Glen Affric the prettiest, in my opinion
Lastly from Cumbria: Deepdale which looks very Scottish probably because it is glaciated like all of Scotland's glens. Ken

Jameel, gorgeous colors in the Valley of Fire image with good composition. The Death Valley image also has good composition and an interesting warm and cool color contrast.

Dan, very nice series of seasonal valley landscape images from you’ve presented—I favor the “Gates of the Valley” and the “Eastern Sierra” images but all are very well captured.
