Clearing out images from my NAS drive, lots of rubbish and a few gems. This little Tarn with Blencathra in the background. I can see the opposite side of Blencathra from my house so use it to tell me what the snow conditions are and how clear the atmosphere is. Ken

That looks a bit on the chilly side with the frozen water in the shallows down in front. Nice archive find.

A little chilly. I spent dawn on the lower shoulder of Blencathra to get a blue hour shot. It wasn't great but it was very icy and I only realised it when I got out of my car and needed to fit spikes to my shoes in order to stand up. Driving back down got me into a sweat when I realised just how dangerous it was, rear wheel drive only and no chains or spikes on the tyres but many years of driving in Scotland in the winter. Ken

Driving on ice can sure be crazy Ken! Glad you got back down with no mishaps.

What a beautiful view. I like how the foreground leads into this one, and it's interesting to know that you can see the backside of that hill (mountain?) from your house.
