Pacman Nebula in SHO

NGC281, The Pacman Nebula, lies in the constellation Cassiopeia. It is a bright emission nebula and star forming region. Several Bok globules (isolated and relatively small dark nebulae, containing dense cosmic dust and gas from which star formation may take place) exist around much of the periphery. Processed here using the Hubble Palette.

Worth the click through to the larger version. I could stare into the details in this scene for a long time and still not absorb it all. Beautiful to say the least.

Wow Chris!!! This is so amazing, maybe the best Pacman Nebula I have seen! Truly awesome and inspiring! I am currently out in Death Valley to shoot some Deep Space over the next few days, and this one is inspiring for me. Thanks!

I have been looking at this for a while now Chris, it might just be me, but I see Baby Groot in the middle of this.

Thank you! I recently reprocessed this one and was surprised at how much detail was there that I had not brought out before

Thanks! So many of these nebulae out there have me staring and trying to fathom the vastness and wonder of what's invisible to us on this tiny dot in space!

Excellent result - love that modified SHO palette for this, that is what I did for my 'mix' as well. Wonderful details and depth, really a wonderful image in every way!

Thanks so much! I guess I'm getting less "concerned" about removing too much green since that's not true to SHO palette. It just seems that ultimately you want the image to look pleasing as well.
