Thursday's Task - 01/28/2021

Today's task is to provide an image or images of Valley of Fire State Park in NV. This an area of beautiful lines, spectacular colors, small caves, arches, grand landscapes, and wonderful abstracts. I have spent several visits there and I plan to go there again.

Windstone Cave. I had the GPS coordinates for this location and was standing within a few feet of it but still couldn't find it because it was too diminutive. When I finally found It, had to crawl into it to get this image.

Great photos Doug! I especially like your first one. But all of them are really well done.

I spent a lot of time in Valley of Fire back when my daughter lived in Las Vegas. I was in there at least once a month for a few years. It was always a shock because I would be in Las Vegas where you are just packed like sardines in a can, and then you drive 40 mins to Valley of Fire and there is almost no one there. It was a great feeling to be able to so quickly get away from the city.

As to Windstone Cave, I remember the first time I found it and I was so shocked, because you do have to actually crawl up in this little 3 foot high cave. Trying to set up a tripod in there was crazy for sure. But it was really fun to find. Now unfortunately I do have some photos from VoF on a local backup, but the hard drives with photos from Windcave are locked away for now.

So here is an assortment from VoF in no particular order.

I've never been there, but what a collection, with some pretty powerful and beautiful images here. Thanks for the visit.
