How about showing an image with little or no vegetation. There should be a lot of those out there in this group. Mine is from John Day Fossil Beds National Monument, OR
Good choice John!

I almost added a Pacific shot but most of mine have sea stacks with abundant aquatic life at the base. I drive past this area a lot on US101 but never have stopped since there were no sea stacks. My shot is from Rockaway Beach, Oregon
This was the first time we stayed on the beaches in Oregon so we didn't know what to expect. It was nice and quiet and as you cane see we pretty much had the whole beach to ourselves. All the brighter streaks in the sand was the wind blowing the sand.I almost added a Pacific shot but most of mine have sea stacks with abundant aquatic life at the base. That beach being quiet is a benefit of visiting in the off seasons. Rockaway is a place (and a piece of US101) to avoid at all costs during the summer months. The place gets absolutely packed and US101 slows to a crawl if traffic is moving at all. I went through there one day on my way from Newport to the Astoria area and it took over 45 minutes to get through the 2 miles of Rockaway. This was the first time we stayed on the beaches in Oregon so we didn't know what to expect.
