It was kinda windy. I ended up putting weight on my tripodFun set. I do like the closeup in the second image in spite of the wind motion on the leaves of the tree just below the comet. #3 is also a good shot with the joshua trees as a silhouetted foreground.
We just took a change and around 9 pm it was already visible to the naked eyes.. Wanted to zoom in but I decided to get a good foreground.I like the last one best; though I'd make a pano out of it; cutting off half of the bottom and 2" off the top.
I've been trying and trying to no avail to get a decent image. I just can't get a view with a decent foreground that also eliminates unwelcome light from the horizon. One night I drove from 10:30 pm to 5:00 am all over the Adirondacks looking for a suitable scene. I've had no luck. Glad to see you've been able to pull some off.

Thank you JimVery nice work Lenny! I am glad you got out to shoot this.
#1 is my favorite, I do like #2 also but I would clone over the wind moved branches. There aren't a lot of them, but cleaning that up in #2 would really make it sweet.
