This is from a few weeks back in Joshua Tree National Park, it's Arch Rock. After a night of Deep Space photography with no clouds, there was just a slight bit of clouds along the horizon, not much at all but enough to give me hope for sunrise so I ran over to where Arch Rock is and got this.

This is a 3 shot pano. And amazing enough it was stitched in ACR. I hadn't noticed the Panorama creation option in ACR before, maybe it's been there for a while, but I noticed it yesterday as I started processing this so I went for it. It stitched it perfectly.

I like the result - nice positioning of the sunrise highlights and colors relative to the arch. The pinks radiating out from the top of the arch are a nice touch.

The pano stitch feature has been there for a while - actually a couple of years now. I prefer bringing the various images into PS as layers and using the Edit>Auto-Blend where I can specify the stitching model to use for the layers. Especially if I am stitching frames from a PS-E shifted pano where I want repositioning only.

Love this one Jim, How did I live in So Cal for 40 years and never get there.

Nice soft light on the arch and the sky with the sunrise hot spot carefully tucked away behind it.

Thanks Alan, in Photoshop as you mentioned is how I have been blending my pano's for quite a while now, Well I think starting with PS 5. Before that I used PT-Gui to stitch pano's.

But as to ACR doing it, I suspected it had been that ability for a while and I just had been blind to it. In this case it worked great, so it's something I might try again. It actually seemed faster combining the stacking and blending all in one button.

Thanks so much Ben. It's amazing sometimes how we can miss things in our own backyard.

This is really nice, Jim. The tones are perfect and so is the composition.

Great shot, the clouds are perfect.

I've been stitching most of my panos in ACR for a few years just because it is fast and easy once I have the files open there. Very rarely they don't come out well, or need the repositioning only like Alan says. The thing I prefer about ACR is that the result is a DNG file that can be edited in ACR again to change the color balance or something else best done there.

Great composition and processing, Jim. Those beautiful pink hues work so well with the smooth shapes and tones of the rocks.
