    Some Serious Cloudage

"exciting" seems like a serious understatement!

    Hummingbird and Fuchsia

Nice capture, Kyle. I did a similar thing while house-sitting for a friend -- sat out on their deck between 2 hummingbird feeders & waited. It was a challenge for the tracking on my camera when they were zooming around.

    Thursday’s Task

Where do I stop? Too many to choose from. Some comic relief to start. Rob picked the wrong place to anchor his boat on this Grand Canyon trip. We got a late start that morning as we had to wait for the water to come up so he could free his boat. Silver Grotto in the Grand Canyon Just...

Loowit - Celebrating 46 Years Since its Facelift

We didn't get any of the ash, though my friends in Colorado said, "thank you for the beautiful sunsets"

Loowit - Celebrating 46 Years Since its Facelift

I was living in Eugene at the time, getting ready to go to work. My boyfriend & another friend were getting ready to go on a bike ride. Then there was this big BOOM, sort of like a sonic boom, but definitely different. It felt like a giant had stood up & hit its head on the ceiling. After a...

A Few Early Season Flowers in Wyoming

Thanks, Jim. The miniature waterfall was probably less than 1 1/2" tall. I'd had hopes for nice sunrise colors for the Tetons shot, but it was all socked in to the east.

    Sugarbowl

thanks, Jameel. Yes, I also liked how there were 2 very different angles.

    Sugarbowl

Thanks, Jim. I almost didn't go back because it was getting pretty blustery out. I had to bump the ISO way up to almost night photography levels.

    Sugarbowl

Thanks, Alan. And hirsutissima is very appropriate, too -- one of the hairiest flowers I've seen!

    Sugarbowl

I forgot to include this in my Landscape post. When I'd headed out that morning, I'd taken my 70-200mm & what I thought was my macro. Not. It was my 24-70mm instead. So I went back out in the afternoon with macro.......but forgot my tripod. This, therefore, is a handheld macro of Clematis...

A Few Early Season Flowers in Wyoming

Ideal for the falls would be an overcast day. In the afternoon, it would be in full sun. As it was, I had to really bring out the water in post since I had to expose to the left to keep the bottom foliage from blowing out.

A Few Early Season Flowers in Wyoming

I made a quick trip to Wyoming last week (when Jim Fox was at the Ames Memorial). The road I camp off of outside of the Tetons was only open halfway, but I was lucky enough to get my preferred site (about the only one that has trees for shelter even if it doesn't have the jaw dropping view of...
