Thanks for starting this thread Jim, I do have lot's of wildflowers. I think this is my favorite.

Prairies are wonderful places to shoot wildflowers. There is an ongoing parade of wildflowers from early spring to late fall. Here are a few to demonstrate what I am talking about.
March-April: Pasque Flower
May: Birdsfoot Violet and Hoary Pucoon
June: Shooting Star
Late June-early July: Wood Lily
July: Prairie White Fringed Orchid
August: Goldenrod and Gayfeather
September: Fringed Gentian

Elephant Heads are one of my favorites too, Monica. I have not yet seen the two species of Penstemon but they look like they may be very photogenic.
