Friday's Focus - 06/07/2018 - Wildflower Landscapes

Todays Friday's Focus will be on Wildflowers we have captured in our landscapes. It's about that time of year to start capturing wildflowers. As I was digging through my archives in preparation for this years wildflower season I was really excited with what I saw, and what I know you guys can contribute.

Here is mine to start it off, this was from a stormy afternoon in Yankee Boy Basin in Colorado.

And another one I have posted before, this is from Ice Lakes Basin in Colorado.

I haven't captured many flowers in landscapes (not for lack of effort) but here are some of my favorites:

1) Flowers along the Hite Cove trail near the Merced River

2) Mustard and trees in the Bay Area

3) Rapeseed and Karst - Yangshuo, China

What's not to like? We had good rains earlier this Spring & wildflowers were looking pretty good, but now it's just been hot & dry & they're fading. Unless we get consistent rains, CO won't be very good for wildflowers this year. Here are some from previous years (1 was posted earlier). 1) Lupines are an invasive species in Iceland (I've never seen so many -- acres & acres of them), but they sure do add a lot of color! 2) Wind Rivers 3) San Juans

Yikes, what a great number of beauties here. I can't compete! Here's a quiet and mosquito infested scene along the Lamarck Trail from North Lake, Eastern Sierra, CA.

These are all from up around Paradise on Mt. Rainier, the best concentrated flower location in WA IMHO.

These look soooo much nicer than the view I got when I was there with forest fire smoke obliterating the view of the mountains.

Really awesome shots thus far! My contribution will span three seasons of wildflower shooting (winter is pretty tough and thus not included).

March mexican poppies and lupine in the Sonoran Desert. Bartlett Lake northeast of Phoenix.

June monkeyflowers in West Fork Canyon north of Sedona.

July columbine in American Basin (San Juan Mountains)

October wildflowers along the Verde River near Sedona.

Really cool work here! That Shadow mountain one is really great how you worked the sun also. And I do like seeing the Organ over a period of several years! It's interesting to see how it looks from one year to the next.

If you have any other location where you have multiple years with the same composition, they would make for some good threads on their own.
