Last Light at Monument Valley

It is a gorgeous image Douglas. Your simplicity goal works well for the composition and beautiful colours but for someone like me who doesn’t do much landscape photography it doesn’t look simple to get this strong an image.

Sometimes when you are standing at a good landscape location the light just happens to be perfect. It is just luck to be there at the perfect time to see an image like this appear.
What isn't luck is the fact that you go back to the same place so many times that your chance of getting the right situation is improved.

After seeing your wonderful work, Trent, I am sure you would have captured the same image if you were there.

I love how you swung the composition to the left. 99.999999% of the images all get both mittens in it from that spot. I know all of mine are just focused on both mittens, I really like how you changed this up Doug! Great thinking on your part.

Thanks so much for your kind comments, Jim.
