Pasques Rebounding From the Snow

As I stepped onto my deck off of the doormat, I very nearly went flying due to the sheet of ice on my deck, camera bag on my back. I recovered my balance, summoned the dog & we headed off on our morning walk. I was a little more hopeful as the ice meant some interesting possibilities for shooting the pasque flowers that I was pretty sure had re-opened after the foot of snow we got 5 days earlier.

Nice walk once you made it off your deck. I love both of these macros but especially the first with the backlit purples.
Thanks, Alan. We don't get the intense colors that Kurt seems to, but I do what I can with what we've got!

World class Monika! These are both so amazing! That bit of frost is super cool.

And I am glad you caught your balance! That would not have been fun had you fallen.

Thanks, Doug. I had a heck of a time trying to mask those shots (all those fine little hairs). Discovered LR's new Blur tool. It's doesn't have a Field Blur option & doesn't work with masks, but I think it has the potential to be able to blur without masks more precisely. It may be that 1st step is using that, then taking it to PS to make it easier to mask, and have more blur options available.
