Northern Minnesota Northern Lights

This was from Sunday night. It's been a great fall color trip to Minnesota/Wisconsin/Michigan. In 10 days I had captured the Northern Lights 4 nights. Now none of them were the epic mind blowing displays that I have captured from here in the past. They were simply the I rarely see mind blowing displays. There were some pillars and dancing but nothing overhead. Again though, I was jazzed and all that.

Nikon D850
Sigma 14mm f1.8
ISO 3200
f1.8
10 seconds (Faster because the Aurora is bright)

All comments are welcome,

Jim

The reflections and the silhouetted trees in front of the aurora take center stage here and the result is quite nice. Not having a nuclear aurora sometimes has its benefits.

Maybe not epic based on a comparison with your experience of the past. I would be very happy if I got this. I like the light and the reflection.

Thanks so much Alan! The locals who I know who see all of the Auroras got bored with this one. But I don't get to see that many, so I was jazzed by this.

Thanks Jameel, that's what I felt. So while I recognize I have gotten better, i was so enjoying what I was getting I never had an ounce of regret.
