Misty Mountain Fall

The one thing that is really missing in the coastal mountains in Oregon - viewpoints that allow to take in a vista view of the scenery. The dense forests only have openings for views where lumber companies have hauled off all the trees via clear cuts. Ironically this actually only happens on private forest land since the US Forest Service requires the loggers to leave some of the trees on USFS lands and that usually ends up being in the most visible places like ridge tops and along the roadways.

This is one of the primary reasons I fly a camera drone so I can fly up to create my own viewpoints to get shots like this one showing off fall colors that really aren't visible from accessible locations on the ground. Shot a couple of years ago along the road following the North Fork of the Siuslaw River.
