Karnak Temple at night via my Canon R8

So I have had some health issues keeping me from posting the rest of my Middle East journey but hopefully, I am able to finish now

I previously posted some of the Karmak temple night cell phone images and video a few weeks ago.
The fun thing is reviewing these images now, I get to experance the trip all over again.

These are of at the same time but taken with my Canon R8 and the laowa d dreamer 15mm f2.0

I mainly bought the Laowa as a milky way lens, but it came in handy with all these huge objects I visited.
Downside to the lens its manual focus so for me, using it as a walk about lens gave me some trouble with focus as may can see in a lot of these images
even though I tried to maintain of check focaus frequantly.

Anyway, all comments are welcome

# 1 To visit these sites during the day was very cool, to see them at dusk or after sundown was magical

# 2 The lighting changed from the daylight making these objects more dynamic.. The sky turned out a little strange in this photo my feeble processing skills could not adjust for

# 3 Ramesses II, must have been quite the leader as he seemed to be everywhere in Eygpt

# 4 Everything was so tall I felt tiny walking under these structures

# 5 Full moon during Ramandan

The Karnak Temple complex in Luxor, Egypt, houses several ancient obelisks, most notably this 97 foot red granite obelisk of Hatsheput.
Erected around 1457 BCE is the tallest standing obelisk in Eygpt dedicated to the god Amun_Ra

# 6 Last but not least. The entrance, same spot i took the video I posted earlier.
The poeple in the foreground give this thing a sence of its scale

Pretty nice results for manual focus at night. My favorite is #5 with the moon over the obelisk.

Hope this wasn't something you brought back with you.

I hope you are feeling better Ed.

#3 and 5 are my favorites, though all of them are really interesting views.

As to focus with the Laowa, it should have been pretty easy. I know it's a new lens for you, so you need to get used to it.

Mainly, you want to use Hyperfocal Distance. So focus it once, and it should be good for anywhere.
