A very striking image, welcome to FW.
Wow...thanks Jim...much appreciated!Congrats on the Daily Featured Post Guy!
Good thing you're not the suspicious sort!It does bring up something that I started observing on the FM board where a certain few photographers seemed to miraculously always be in the perfect spot for these type monsoon events, over and over again. They had wind, they had lightning, tortured skies... Yet they were always right there. Every week. Why if I was a suspicious sort I might think hmmm.... I do see these things, but they are fairly infrequent...
Keep the faith - I do the same thing and far and away prefer seeing good work that comes out of getting the shot you want instead of inventing it with advanced photoshop skills.Well, maybe I'm old school. I still believe in going back over and over until it's that one shot I've been wanting. One shot, that's it, that's the fun for me. Guess I like frustration and rejection. Some, it seems feel OK just piecing things together from this and that. Maybe it's just because I am not learning Photoshop very well.
Hey Guy,Hi all...a newbie here with my first post. Thanks to Doug Sherman for bringing this community to my attention. I do recognize a number of names here from days gone by in the Fred Miranda landscape forum. For my first post, I figured I show off some of the craziest storm light I've ever witnessed (with a camera in my hands anyway). This was taken up on Schnebly Hill looking back towards my hometown of Sedona, Arizona. Wave after wave of monsoon storms came at me that afternoon and evening. I got extremely lucky when a final wave came at me just as the sun was setting to create some incredible conditions. It made the harrowing drive back down the washed out 4x4 road somewhat bearable anyway!
