I have to say, I am definitely catching the timelapse bug. I usually don't have the patience to leave my camera untouched for hours, but when I do the results have been fun. I'm using the Panasonic S1RII which has a really nice timelapse exposure leveling feature that creates smooth transitions...
I have posted a few individual lightning shots. This is a timelapse from that evening. There is a couple of small hiccups in the timelapse, but overall I think it turned out really well.
The images were either 2 or 3 seconds, with varying ISO's. I shot this in manual with a goal of keeping the...
This is a timelapse from Little Corona Beach in Corona Del Mar California. I have already posted the sunset part of it. For this I moved the camera to capture the post sunset light. Also the shutter speed was slowed down since it was getting darker. Oliver had suggested using an ND in the...
I went out last Tuesday to Joshua Tree to test my new Astro Mount, and even though the moon was at 73% so much brighter then I normally like I set up 2 cameras to shoot timelapses while I played around with my new mount with a different camera.
That sounded confusing reading it back, to clarify...
I don't know why I didn't think about this until a month or so ago, perhaps it was all of the houses surrounding my daughters that turned me off, or that I could only capture the top of the trees if I excluded the houses. Well, no matter the reason it finally dawned on me that I could set up my...
There was some cool clouds in the sky and I had one camera pointing to the NE doing a timelapse when I decided I wanted to do another one to the SE to catch the moon rising. So I set up one of my other cameras to do that. In the process of the sunset turning dark and more clouds rolling in there...
The view from my daughters backyard. There has been lot's of cool clouds lately in Colorado, so I have been setting up my D810 to shoot timelapses.
This is set in Aperture Mode so that the camera can adjust the exposure as it changes. I have found that Center-Weighted metering works best, and...
Since @Ben Egbert and @Jim Dockery wanted a timelapse, I made sure to get to the lake to run early enough yesterday that I could still set up for a timelapse as the clouds again looked really nice. This is at the Poudre Learning Center in Greeley, Colorado.
All comments are welcome,
Jim
PS...
This is a timelapse I took a few weeks back. I took a couple of the grandkids to a local park in Colorado with me. While they played I set up my GoPro on a tripod as it was super windy and blowing all of the leaves off of the trees, and I liked watching the leaves then blowing along the ground...
This is from last week, there was a moon up that set during the night and a few clouds rolled in. It all made for an exciting night with the goblins.
This was captured on the Nikon D810 Sigma 14mm f1.8. Once the moon set I started capturing Deep Space Images with my D850. It was a busy but very...
This is a timelapse from the Perseid Meteor Shower. I captured this out at Joshua Tree National Park. I made a concerted effort to find a straight spot in the road that goes through Joshua Tree to hopefully eliminate lights from cars. I was not successful it seems.... one of these days. I did...
This is an experiment as full disclosure. :)
I had an idea of how would a timelapse look if I filmed it along the ground, from a bugs perspective? I think this might be something I can work on and build upon in the future, but I thought it was fun and would share it.
It will probably make you...
I was out at Joshua Tree National Park last week with the goal of shooting Deep Space Astro, but had also planned on setting up a couple of cameras so I could do timelapses of the night sky. Having car headlights on the rocks at night has been something that keeps happening and I have been...
In Death Valley a few weeks ago, while I had 1 camera pointed West doing a timelapse and I had 1 camera pointed East doing a timelapse, I also had 1 camera pointed up at the sky doing a timelapse. This is from the one pointed up.
I started this one later, so it's only got 500 some frames in it...
Airglow was invading the night skies on this night. Much like in my previous timelapse looking to the West, the airglow just went a bit psycho. I now not many will like this, but airglow is real, and this is what it looks like. I remember the first time I came across it years ago when I saw...
Another fun time of playing around with the 2 oldest grandkids, Jonah and Addy in the park.
Captured with the GoPro Hero 9 in Timewarp mode (Timelapse)
Put together in Movavi
All comments are welcome,

This is a timelapse from a few weeks ago in Trona Pinnacles in California. My goal was to do Deep Space Astro that night, and so I had set up my D850 to shoot in camera timelapse video in the meantime. There is one small hiccup in it, that I have spent several hours trying to mask, and in the...
Another timelapse from a park in Colorado featuring my oldest Grandson and Granddaughter.
Taken with the GoPro Hero 9 and processed in Movavi.

Lake that is in Colorado. :)
Jackson Lake is a state park about an hour from my daughters that I thought might work for Deep Space Astro as it's pretty out away from the city, and hopefully wouldn't be as cold as going to the north into Wyoming. As it was it was down into the 20's during the...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
