This morning we had a partial (76%) solar eclipse as dawn broke over New Zealand, so I was of course out there to try to capture it. I was stymied by a bit of cloud during parts of the event, but it was clear for much of it. I had three cameras going, two focused on the sun itself (see my post...
Hi all, I'm new to this site and also am new to the world of solar imaging, so apologies if this is all rather amateurish! Last May, I attended a dark skies forum near where I live in the South Island of New Zealand, and there one of the participants brought along something I'd never seen in...

From Sunday evening at Pfieffer Beach in Big Sur. It was a fun day of...
Or something like that. :)
This is from up in Northern California along the I-5 as I was driving south, having spent the previous 4 days in Washington and Oregon.
The sun ends up turning into simply a Red Ball bouncing up in the sky. The smoke from the clouds is so thick, you can safely look...

Drone view from above my house this morning. After reading about dealing with noise in photos from my DJI MP2 I took 5 shot bursts today, layered, stacked as smart object, blended with median, flattened, then took the resulting images which were largely free of noise back into PS to stitch in...
Our Focus this week might be a little harder to find. It's going to Focus on those Landscape Photos where the Sun is actually in the Photo.
Usually we avoid shooting directly into the sun unless we are going for sun stars. Now sun stars are okay for our Focus today, but I am sure there are...
The morning fog complemented the sunrise above my house (drone view) this morning.

I am still struggling to recover from my recent loss, so apologies for being a virtual no show for the last week. I decided perhaps posting something could get me going again.
So here is a shot from 2017, from a drive to San Diego from the Lake Havasu area. This is along CA highway 78, with the...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
