I captured this up at Jewel Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park last week. It was a 7 mile round trip hike that I would consider moderate. Lot's of almost level incline at a gentle 5 or 6% grade with maybe 2 stretches of a steeper 25% grade. It was well worth any sweat, as Jewel Lake is truly a...
I captured this 2 nights ago. Bierstadt Lake is in RMNP. I entered after 6pm which is legal when you don't have a reservation. And hiked up to Bierstadt to do some high altitude training.

This is from the 4th of July Fireworks display at Estes Lake in Estes Park Colorado. Once I had my exposure was set (f5.6, 3.2 secs, ISO 100) I just locked in the shutter remote and let it go. As I scrolled the images from the Sony A6400 with the 12mm Samyang lens, I found where it had captured...
Gem Lake is a really cool place in Rocky Mountain National Park. While it get's it's share of visitors hiking up to it, it isn't anywhere near as crowded as the rest of RMNP.
Check out this link for the video I made of the hike up to it. Hike to Gem Lake | Focal World
This image is a 4 shot...
Devil's Backbone Open Space is an area just west of Loveland Colorado on Hwy 34 as you head towards Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. This video tour is a little longer at 14 mins, so it will be too long for some I know. :) But each video is different so some end up being shorter and...
Here is a short video tour of the hike to Gem Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. I took this on Monday.
It was captured in 4k on the GoPro Hero 9, and put together in Movavi.
Be sure to check out our Video Section here as there are a lot of unviewed or little viewed videos in there.

Up at Fern Lake in the Rocky Mountain National Park last year. It's an easy hike up to it, and it's beautiful in it's surroundings. I went for the reflection shot. Sometimes when the sky can get reflected in an image I feel like I don't need the real sky since the imagination can piece it...
As some of you know, I was kind of following the Comet Neowise all over. It wasn't intentional really, but it just sort of happened. :) I shot it in Arches NP, the Tetons, and several times in Rocky Mountain NP. This is one of those times were I shot it up at RMNP and using this cool wall area...
I was trail running in RMNP up by Fern Lake 2 evenings ago. The forecast here has been for clouds, and it has been cloudy. So no chance to capture the comet Neowise at night yet. But I brought my camera's just in case. As I was trail running the clouds were opening up to the West and North...
Late afternoon yesterday I was driving back up Hwy 34 towards Estes Park and ultimately Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) to go trail run up to Gem Lake, a short 2 mile trail one way that is rated as Strenuous so I thought it would make for a great tune up hike. I hadn't been to Gem Lake...
This is one of the wide angle shots I got of Comet Neowise. I had shot it with 3 cameras, 1 at 350mm, 1 at 155mm and this one a crop body Sony A6400 with a 12mm. Again, this was up in Trail Ridge last Saturday morning in Rocky Mountain National Park.
I thought that a Wide Angle would render the...
I had spent the afternoon at RMNP hiking with the 6 grandkids up to Emerald Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park on Friday. The 2 and 4 year olds had some issues with their short legs and falling going uphill from the Bear Lake starting point, so I ended up along with my dayback and camera...
This is Emerald Lake, it's up in Rocky Mountain National Park RMNP over by Bear Lake. It's a pretty short 2+mile but super beautiful hike. There is lot's of great waterfalls and cascades along the way and you pass several lakes on the way up there.
It's really a bit of a hidden jewel for...
This is an area in Loveland Colorado (what a great place for the Devil to reside) that is just to the East of Estes Park and the beginning of Rocky Mountain National Park for most people.
I had wanted to go trail run up to Gem Lake in RMNP, but ended up running late having played too much with...
Yesterday I had gotten a Reservation to go into RMNP and had an epic day. After 6 miles of trail running, I headed over towards Trail Ridge Road to shoot what looked like it might be a good sunset before shooting the Milky Way with snow field remnants later in the night. Part way up Trail Ridge...
Up at Sky Pond in the Rocky Mountain National Park I found these beautiful Columbines nestled in among the rocks surrounding the pond. So I changed my thinking to a more intimate approach as I waited for sunset to arrive.

From this last summer on my hike up to Sky Pond in the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. I had to hike a little off trail to get this view but I sure liked the wildflowers and how the water flowed through them.

This is from of my visits to Sky Pond in Rocky Mountain National Park a month or so ago. On this day it was stormy and very windy. This is after the sunset because I really liked how the clouds were looking. There had been some color earlier, and some kind of cool coloring, but this seems just...
