The Badlands of South Dakota is an area I had heard of for years as a Landscape Photographer, and had been on my wish list for many years. With my daughter moving to Colorado 6 or 7 years ago, I was making frequent trips there and of course photographing along the way. It was 4 years ago I think...
From earlier in our trip, this one a pano. Some great, subtle pastels in the evening sky, captured from the Northern Lights Resort on Lake Kabetogama in Voyageurs NP. I didn't have to walk far to capture some brilliant sunsets.
Hi! Its beed a busy month! From Tetons 3 weekends in September to my home away from home in SW CO. Here is a little fall in the Tetons. The weekend before last I went storm chasing because well "snow in the Tetons" I couldn't pass up that opportunity.
cc welcome!
Well...Jim - I did get a...
After a little bushwhacking, we were treated to this rarely, if ever, visited location in Glacier National Park. Numerous waterfalls poured down from the massive cliffs that surrounded us, and we scoured the area for hours looking for the perfect compositions. Unfortunately most of the wild...
The clouds started rolling
the sky went black and the wind picked up (then and there I knew we were in for some sand blasting)
then it hit, a true sand storm...visibility dropped down to feet in front of you (if you dared to open your eyes)
this is a shot taken at the edge of the dunes...
The Focus this Friday is on your Favorite National Park.
If you are like me, you have lot's of Favorite NP's, but if you could only choose one NP, which one would it be?
So post as many photos of it as you want, but please make sure you are only posting photos from 1 National Park. :)
I will...
My first time in Canyonlands! It was fun to see all the people trying to catch the sunrise the first morning I got there late and couldn't really get a shot in because everyone was up in the arch... I have no Idea what they were all doing... This was my second attempt the next morning and glad I...
When I was in Arches I spotted this red waterfall flowing. I passed it by, but it only took a few seconds to realize that I needed to make a U-turn. Which I did and I went back to shoot it. Later that evening I decided to go back again as I wanted to be able to get in closer to it to shoot...
Just added my latest blog postings on the August visit to Bryce Canyon. Advice, suggestions, observations etc... ScenicTraveling Should be the first blog post - halfway down the home page.
This is from Glacier NP a few years back. I don't recall which waterfall this is, perhaps Alan does. But it was an area I really enjoyed exploring. I hope to get back there next summer, so I need to dig out my maps and figure out where I had shot this.
I liked the way the rocks were uplifted...
Hi, I just got back from a long trip went down to the Grand Canyon and up to Moab ending my trip in CO. It was a super cold morning but so worth the bone chilling cold.
CC welome!
I just added a series of 3 blog postings (just scroll down - they are the first 3 posts you come to) for my Trip the the North Rim this past summer. My over all site is still a work in progress. But, hope to post more regularly when we "retire" in the next year
I need to go back here this winter, so i can shoot not just during early morning and sunset. Had more fun shooting the sand dunes that i had anticipated!
Sony A7R2 + Contax Zeiss 80-200mm
It is interesting how a lot of times it takes a while for an image to "grow" on me. There are files I haven't worked ever, and then 10 years later I like them. This one isn't quite that extreme, but taken last August.
A7R and Zeiss 80-200mm, single image. And it looks crooked, but the level on...
