I have posted a few individual lightning shots. This is a timelapse from that evening. There is a couple of small hiccups in the timelapse, but overall I think it turned out really well.
The images were either 2 or 3 seconds, with varying ISO's. I shot this in manual with a goal of keeping the...
After spending the day up in Cheyenne Wyoming with 2 of my granddaughters, I was driving back about 7pm and saw this super cool cumulous cloud to the SE. With no clouds to the West I thought that this will be an awesome sunset. By the time I got back to my daughters, I asked my oldest grandson...
This is another in the series of lightning strikes I was able to capture in Blue Valley in Utah. I did this one on the way out as I was being chased by the storm. I was able to get ahead of the storm by a few minutes and stopped again to set up my cameras before the rain came.

When I put together my other video, my little short story of that evening with all of the lightning. I thought, maybe it would be cool to see some of the lightning in Slow Motion! The Night of a Thousand Lightning Strikes | Focal World
So I just pulled a few clips, and slowed them down. Now I...
This video will be a bit different as I attempt to tell a story in it. It's not perfect, I wish the GoPro took better video in low light, but hopefully it kind of works.
This is a video of that sunset in Blue Valley in Utah in September. I had met up with @Amy Nelson the day before, but she had...
The Lightning didn't seem to know which way to strike. :)
This is from Blue Valley just East of Factory Buttein Utah last September. Another in a bunch of lightning strikes from that evening I had captured. This is a single shot, no Lightning trigger, just my remote release locked in and...
From last September in Blue Valley by Factory Butte in Utah. I have already posted a couple of images from this massive lightning storm I was able to capture. This is a single image.
All comments are welcome,
Jim
PS. Alan mentioned it but I forgot to initially, this was at sunset, that's...
Down in Blue Valley which is east of Factory Butte in Utah, I had been in this cool valley to fly the drone and to photograph the sunset. As fast at the sunset approached so did this huge storm to which I had gotten alerts on flash flooding dangers on my phone. It ended up being too windy to fly...
An area that I was only passing familiar with until Ben spent the time to share it with some of us, it's in the Blue Valley that can be observed from Skyline Overlook near Factory Butte in Utah. I had gone back over there for sunset possibilities, but mainly to get some more time flying my new...
This is from last year in Colorado, not far from my daughters house in Greeley Colorado. Fortunately Greeley is surrounded by farm fields like so much of Colorado. Lightning does strike twice! Well, not exactly, but I hope you get what I mean. :)
I pulled this one out of the archives accidently...
Two nights ago I was out getting gas before sunset as a thunderstorm rolled in. My main cameras were at my daughters since I was preparing for a hiking trip up in Rocky Mountain National Park the next day, but I still had my Sony A6400 with me. So as I saw the sky turning pink and saw the...
Last Wednesday I was in SW Colorado in the San Juan's, I had just hiked to Blue Lakes the day before and I get a FaceTime Video call from my 7 year old granddaughter. She had been calling me every day, multiple times a day to ask me to come back to her house for her birthday which was on...
Hopefully everyone here is a Marvel fan! :) I see a baby Thor in this, maybe you will too.
This was taken last year in Colorado. I was driving with my daughter and grandkids, I don't recall where we were coming back from but this insane lightning storm was going off. I unfortunately was on the...
After seeing Amy's awesome lightning photo I was just a bit envious and jealous. So last night while at my daughters north of Denver I went out to my jeep and saw the sky being filled full of lightning, I ran in and grabbed my cameras and drove a couple of blocks to an open field and this is one...
Not exactly what I was after when I went up there, but it worked out. I was there to shoot a sunset and this moved in.
I shot this on my EOS-R in Bulb mode and left if open for 3 minutes.
Ben and I were setting up to shoot the Milky Way after sunset and as it was getting darker I remember seeing a flash of light off in the distance, but wasn't sure what it was with lightning being a possibility. In the middle of taking this shot to double check exposure and such a lightning bolt...

Two weeks ago, (Sept. 7), a fast moving cold front pushed through Washington. I was hoping for some dramatic clouds, and a good sunset photo. When I checked the skies in the late afternoon, it was completely overcast and I was thinking, there would be no photos tonight. I went back out about...
There is an issue with Uploading Photos (attachjments). I am not sure what the problem is, and I am looking into it. You can still try to Create your Threads and Upload your Photos, but it is hanging up during the Upload.
