Venice

5 hrs in Venice and we crammed a lot in. The colours look a little odd but it is probably my phone. The water is on the green side of blue in reality. Lots of pictures today but we need to tidy our apartment before flying home tomorrow so this will be the only one today. Anotger easy process. Friday may see a lot of posting. Ken

Wow - the water line is really getting close for that city. Beautiful architecture on these buildings - makes it obvious why the place is such a draw for tourists with so many photogenic views everywhere you look. Looking forward to what you got after you get back home and settled.

Alan the city is less than 2ft above the waterline. The Adriatic sea has a minute tidal range, inches not feet, but the city is often flooded. Huge cruise ships used to sail right past St. Marks but thankfully are now banned. Ken

My sister was just there, so it's great to see your photos of Venice. You captured the city well, and you showed off the water that surrounds the city really nice. What a unique place.

Did you have to pay a fee to visit Venice? It was recently announced that tourists would be charged a small fee to visit during daytime hours.
