Oooo - love that one Monika! Is Silver Efex a stand-alone or part of a suite of programs?

Thanks for all the nice comments and great input! I will have to see what a red filter treatment in LR does...

Mike, use the B&W filter in Photoshop. You have a very nice image in color, but in your version it's Gray and White, not Black and White. it's one of the things I look for in B&W, is there really Black in the B&W?

Monika added some, and it looks much better. But if you use the B&W adjustment in Photoshop on the color version it's very, very powerful. You can for instance adjust the Blue (sky) color to be brighter or darker by a slider, much like having used a Red filter if you had shot B&W film. But with the slider you can precisely darken the sky.

I like Silver FX, but it's a tool I have started to use after doing the B&W conversion in Photoshop, for as odd as that might sound. :) I would guess LR would have a B&W conversion tool, but I have no idea since I don't use LR.
