Interesting looking place and one I have never visited before. I love the formations and the exposed root ball of the ponderosa in the last image is a fun shot.

Hey Darrell,

That is a fun place to go! I have been there once and found so many opportunities for cool compositions.

How like how you captured the slot canyon section. I also like the idea of taking #2 and going with a square crop on it to lose the sky, it kind of transforms that view. And it's great you got your kids on the tree roots in the last one. They give some great scale to that tree and it looks like they are having a lot of fun!

Thanks Alan and Jim. I'm sure most people go there to see the many tent rock formations, but a friend and I wanted to walk through the slot canyon. There are some places it's almost too narrow to pass, and also there's at least one large boulder to climb over. The lighting and striated walls were an interesting surprise to me.

The kids were not mine....I thought their mom might ask for a way to get a copy of the photo, but she didn't seem to be interested.
