I haven't done that yet, but that sounds like fun! I am often just scrolling through the sky looking for lesser known objects to image, so I like your just picking a spot in the sky and going for it.

You did a great job with this Ed, a lot of dust on your dusty road! :)

Whats that OIII object along the bottom right? It almost looks like the Iris nebula.

Actually, that is a glowing band of ionized hydrogen (Hα) which is part of a very large and very faint supernova remnant, called Barnard's loop. While there is likely some dust there, you are picking it up in your image because it is a faint emission nebula. Fun image for sure.
