Ibis feature missing?

Image stabilization control should be at the top of menu 7 of the camera control tab (first tab). This is according to the manual. This is missing on my R5 camera menu. In fact I have looked through the entire menu and cannot find it anywhere.

Any help?

Ok, I figured out that the menu item becomes available when in movie mode where the isis control is located. So now I have another question. How do you urn ISIS off for stills images?

If the lens has IS, this menu item is not shown - it is always on and cannot be disabled (i.e. the lens IS setting controls it. To have that menu item shown, you have to attach a lens which doesn't have the IS option. See pages 251/252 for details.

Ok, I read elsewhere that it was controlled by the lens switch. I will see what happens with an EF lens

That is what I meant. For an IS enabled lens the lens switch controls it. For a lens w/o IS the menu item decides if IBIS is enabled or not. You have to have such a lens mounted to turn that setting on/off.

True for both EF as well as RF lens.

That is not the right file Ben. The file name should be EOSR5120.FIR. That appears to be the firmware for EOS R v 1.8.0, not R5. This is why the camera won't recognize it and load.

And the FW file for RF 24-105L is RF012706.afu.

Ok, I have both updates loaded now, thanks for your help. I also found the ibis setting with a 11-24 attached. I sat it to the other choice from always on, can't recall what it was named.
