Carlisle Cathedral Christmas eve

I went shopping today, last minute present and saw the light streaming through the 12thC Cathedral illuminating the window from the inside. I only had my phone but managed this. I then spent a few minutes contemplating the beauty of the interior. I hope that everybody has a safe and warm Christmas. Ken

These are beautiful! They just don't make churches today as beautiful as they did hundreds of years ago. I really like how it was illuminated.

Jim I think that the cost of building with traditional materials and techniques would be prohibitive. Some modern churches are beautiful, or are beautiful in my eyes eg Catholic Cathedral in Liverpool, La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. Ken
