One of the birds I really wanted to get was the Burrowing Owl, Athene cunicularia. I'd tried in Florida, California and Nevada but to no avail. We have just returned from the island of Aruba and whilst there I finally managed to see and photograph them. Here are a few shots of them

The one with the head turned to its left & no beak showing but just the one eye is quite disconcerting! Nice series.

the whole sequence is phenomenal. I took the liberty of cropping one of the images to get rid of a bit of a distraction in the foreground (on the left).

That's so cool Kevin! Amazing how far you have gone to try and capture these, and you finally got them! And you got them in Spades! Way to go. I really like them all, and it was neat seeing them in a sandy/dirt environment and also a lush green environment.

They could win prizes for their wide eyed look. Great set of images.
Thank you Alan

Thank you Monika, hadn't notice until you pointed it out, but yes, it looks quite weird

Kudos on finally finding cooperative birds, As always, Keven, your work is stellar,
Thank you for the kind words Eric

Thank you Murali. I see what you mean, but I personally don't like the aspect ratio of your crop. I think I'd rather fill the offending area with content aware fill.
