Best filters for landscape photography

Hello everyone, as many of you know I have been an Ambassador for Formatt-Hitech for 5 years. I left FH last March, for reasons that I'll obviously not share, and I have been looking for new filters to replace my FH kit since.

To do so, as I always do when I have to select my gear, I took the most thorough and "scientific" approach I could - so, I set off to do the most comprehensive filter review I could, and select my filters according to the results.

I contacted the biggest eight brands on the market producing glass filters, and I ended up with six brands to test. Here are my results, which I hope you'll find interesting:

Enjoy the read, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Best regards,

Thanks for testing these Vieri. I know your testing and review will be well written. I am on the road traveling so I will read it in the next day or so.

Nice article Vieri. I had bought into the hype from Breakthrough several years ago, but have not been impressed. I've noted they are hard to keep clean and very easily scratched even though I always keep them covered when not in use. You may want to include some testing around physical robustness if you ever run a test like this again

I'll give Kase a try.

Hey Kyle, thanks for the kind comment. Testing around robustness is a great idea, but not easily done with demo material - manufacturers kinda want to get it back in one piece 😂

Thanks for this Vieri. I use Kase filters and like them apart from a tiny cast on the 3 stop ND that is missing in the 6stop. My brain tells me that it should be the other way round if present. Ken
