A Soaker over the Mountain

Saturday evening's sunset was yet another one that started out with promise and ended up with the lights going out early but a neat thunderhead lurking over Mt. St. Helens offered up a burst of color with its towering clouds after everything else went gray. Three panels at 28mm.

I would take this over a sunset, getting those thunderheads lit up is always so cool! I see it once in a while when I am in Colorado, and it's always such a cool scene.

Thanks Jim - happily I didn't have to forgo the sunset to shoot the thunderheads since this didn't light up until after the sunset had died off

Thanks Monika - earlier I was hoping for colors under the lower cloud deck which what I had to the west as well. The tops of the thunderheads were simply white until everything down lower had gone dark. This turned out to be the better show.
