4 minutes of Vestrahorn Sunrise

After almost 8 months from my last visit, I am almost ready to go back to Iceland for about two weeks of photography there! Iceland is always beautiful, but in winter is truly amazing and I am very excited to be there again. Here's a shot from my last visit, taken at the amazing Vestrahorn mountain:

236 seconds (almost 4 minutes) of exposure with my Hasselblad X1D, Hasselblad XCD 21mm and Formatt-HItech Firecrest Ultra filters.

Thank you for viewing, best regards

Beautiful light but that foreground is perfect. The frost/snow on the dunes really compliments the mountain.

Vieri,
This is beautiful. Why did you have to do a 4 minute exposure? Looks like a lot of light in the scene.

The foreground is so cool in this. Of course the show is in the background but the leading lines in the foreground are so cool.

If you underexposed the center Sra of the sky a bit, would it pull some of the pink tones into it?

Hey Kyle, thank you very much indeed, I am glad you enjoyed the composition here! :)

Stunning image. Iceland has been on my list for a while.
Thank you very much Jameel, much appreciated! :) Iceland is just spectacular, I am here now and no matter how many times I come, every time I am marvelling at how stunning this place is!

Thank you very much Bob, glad you enjoyed it! :) Since the clouds were moving very, very slow I choose to do a 4 minute exposure to smoothen them a little bit, and get the softer tones and smoother light that only that kind of long exposure gets you :)

This is simply gorgeous as always Vieri
Thank you very much indeed Ben, that is truly kind of you to say :)

Absolutely stunning result.
Thank you very much Alan, I am glad you enjoyed it! :)

Thank you very much Jim, I am glad you enjoyed it! :) I think it might, but I kinda like the brighter clouds on top of the brighter mountain, it kinda "makes sense" to me, but I definitely see your point there, thank you for the suggestion :)

Extraordinary image. Mesmerizing.

Thank you very much indeed Bart, much appreciated, glad you enjoyed it! :)

Beautiful, Vieri. Sometimes the clouds in Iceland just barely move.
Thank you very much Monika, glad you enjoyed it! :) Yes, sometimes they barely move, and some other times they move so fast - such an amazing place for landscape photography!

Absolutely beautiful light, Vieri.

This is gorgeous! I agree, the leading foreground is perfectly framed and leads me right through to the main event. Great skies too. Well done!
