Thanks Jeffrey - I have usually been trying to shoot more up than down. When I am shooting up in the Gorge my 400' ceiling is only half way up the walls of the canyon so the tops of the waterfalls is still above my position. Are we limited to 10º down as well?

I'd walk 5 minutes for that view of the Tetons. I like the shooting star shots in #3 and #4. The second image seems a bit on the busy side wth the OOF vegetation surrounding the subject blooms. Not sure I have ever seen a Yellow fritillary before - neat looking flower. The falls are quite nice...

Thanks Monika - easy to get a lot of practice when I only have to walk about 25' from my kitchen to a deck chair and launch straight up to shoot :) The hardest part is waiting for Mother Nature to provide sunset conditions like this to make it worthwhile.

I really like the vastly different palette this presents compared to the usual Crater Lake images. Excellent result!

Nice - this type of result is why I keep shooting blooms with a telephoto lens as it makes isolation much easier. I like the backlighting.

The result certainly works fine for my eyes. I like this better than the star trails image.

Thanks Jim - the cameras have certainly improved and I suspect this would have been a much easier edit with my current system compared to this shot from a Canon 5D MkII taken 16 years ago. Editing tools from back then never came close to making this capture work.

Not hard to see where the name came from with the rocks down by the lake. Looks like a nice place to escape the summer heat down at lower elevations.
