    M20 Trifid Nebula

Awesome.. one of my favorites. I actually saw color in this nebula viewing it through a 36” f/5 telescope. Nice photo

    ISS & Aurora

Yeah same main 48mp camera. the 15 pro will produce the same results as the pro max. Have fun, hopefully you’ll be impressed with it. Shayne Mostyn has many other videos on the iPhone regarding night photography on YouTube

    ISS & Aurora

Hello Alan. actually the area I live in is fairly light polluted. The iPhone in night mode, takes three 10 second exposures and combines them and puts out a 30” exposure and I use ProRaw and edit in Lightroom mobile. The night mode option on the iPhone isn’t a straight 30” exposure, but a stack...

    ISS & Aurora

Hi Jim.. what you need to do is point the iPhone to the sky and let it go, don’t touch the screen, the iPhone camera will focus to infinity on its own. Touching the screen activates focus and spot metering and sometimes the exposure gets too dark. I always just aim the iPhone camera where I...

    ISS & Aurora

During the aurora, I captured the international space station passing through the Big Dipper with the reddish pink aurora. Didn’t think I was able to see the aurora from this far south. I only went outside to capture the ISS. The aurora was a surprise… The additional photo is of the Big Dipper...

    New M42 capture with iPhone

Even with a full moon, M42 still got GOT! I used a TeleVu 12mm Nagler this time & it's a much better eyepiece. 30” exposure on iPhone 15 pro max. Celestron C5

    Medusa Nebula - SH2-274

Nice… I like the wide field view. I think wider views show more deep sky. Nice colors in that nebula

    Celestron 5-inch Cassegrain- M42

My buddy Darin took these images with a 16” dob and an iPhone 13 Pro Max through the eyepiece in Fort Davis Tx. Amazing detail from the iPhone. He didn’t use ProRAW though, just HEIF. Otherwise the imagery would be a lot cleaner looking without the automatic noise reduction of HEIF / JPEG files...

    Celestron 5-inch Cassegrain- M42

Well I am sending the C5 back due to multiple fingerprints (3-4) & a palm print within the corrector plate. This should have been noticed before it left the factory. I can’t really see them until a small amount of fog on the glass. I received a replacement today, it’s perfect. Would you do the same?

    The Monkeyhead Nebula

I just looked up what type of telescope that is and that is interesting. Self automated type of telescope for Astro photography. Technology has improved so much that I think it’s interesting how easily some of these objects can be captured. Looks like a great edit and capture to me. I’m happy...

    Celestron 5-inch Cassegrain- M42

Well Jim I got M51 with below average transparency and a 25mm eyepiece which gives 50x on the 5-inch. I need darker skies, and because I don’t have dark skies, I’ve already reached my limit of what I can get in my front yard. …and two new shots of M42

    Celestron 5-inch Cassegrain- M42

As for the galaxies, I will try. My friend Darin got amazing shots of galaxies with his iPhone and 16” Dob. Lots of detail!!! But that was a 16”, not a 5”. I used to have a 20”, it was great. Anyway, I’ll share what I can get.

    Celestron 5-inch Cassegrain- M42

Thanks Jim I’m using the iPhone 15 pro max with ProRAW. I didn’t think to use the 28mm or 35mm equivalent focal lengths to get a tighter view through the eyepiece. I’ll do that next time… I should get some nice galaxy and star cluster images as well with this scope. It was $601 on Amazon. The s...

    M1 - The Crab Nebula

Nice image. Too bad we can’t just take a single 5 minute exposure without having to go through so much stacking and editing to get the final result. Your efforts have paid off, lovely shot.

    Celestron 5-inch Cassegrain- M42

Hello all… yeah it’s been a while since I’ve been here on this forum. Not much going on in the world of photography or astronomy for me lately. Been busy with work and life as well. Anyway, I purchased a Celestron 5-inch from Amazon so I could use it on my Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer as the OTA...

    M101 - Supernova

Yes the LED lights are LAME! They have electric photocells in them that I could use a red laser pointer to turn them off, but they aren’t facing my direction. I just need to drive elsewhere like you and take my photos. It’s nice that you can easily get to a locationto shoot, unfortunately I...
