Sugarbowl

I forgot to include this in my Landscape post. When I'd headed out that morning, I'd taken my 70-200mm & what I thought was my macro. Not. It was my 24-70mm instead. So I went back out in the afternoon with macro.......but forgot my tripod. This, therefore, is a handheld macro of Clematis hirsutissima. This was the only bunch of them on that hike and they were right in the middle of a 2-track.

Sugarbowl seems like a good descriptor for these blooms. I like how you positioned your camera for this shot looking into the bloom just starting to open up.

Thanks, Alan. And hirsutissima is very appropriate, too -- one of the hairiest flowers I've seen!

Great job Monika on hand holding this macro shot. This is a super cool flower and worth going back for.
Thanks, Jim. I almost didn't go back because it was getting pretty blustery out. I had to bump the ISO way up to almost night photography levels.
