I’ve selected two photos of the exceptionally beautiful Toucan Barbet (Semnornis ramphastinus). This species is native humid forests of the Western Andes of Ecuador and Columbia. Their diet varies according to the season. Yes, Ecuador has seasons when it comes to fruit and insect availability. Hope you enjoy.

Two from this morning at sunrise at the local refuge. The lesser sandhill cranes are now present in numbers. They take off in small groups in the early morning from their overnight resting spot for daytime feeding areas nearby…...

The Ross' geese are also arriving in numbers. Here's a heavy coming in for a landing later in the morning......

Well... it's almost embarrassing to post these with so many really cool winged photos here today. But here goes... these are some ducks from a few weeks back at a local pond/lake.
