Went for a walk today as the recent cold weather has finally deserted us. This is a bothy which is a mountain hut that is free to sleep in, no electricity, no toilets, no running water and no wardens or rules. Processed in Photoshop with Color Efex Pro. This is a quick and simple conversion on my laptop so is probably a little unsubtle, I will probably process it properly later. Comments welcome Ken _DSC7373-1 1200px.jpg

This does look like a pretty basic hut. We have some of these on mountaintops. Looks like it's built to last.

I was just about to go look up what Bothy meant but kept reading - fascinating. Are there many of these around? That one looks to be almost entirely stone construction.

I like this as a B&W scene and the conversion worked well.

This area has many slate quarries with two within 1/4 mile so this bothy may have started as a house for a group of quarry workers. There are 12 bothies in the North of England with about a hundred in Scotland.

This does look good in B&W Ken. There is nothing that jumps out at me where your simple editing on the road didn't work well here.
