I took a three day tour of some of the Ansel Adams Wilderness lakes (Devil's Postpile to Minaret Lake, over to Ediza Lake, up to Rosalie Lake, and out via Agnew Meadow). This was night one. The lake had fish jumping for mosquitoes like mad though it seemed like the mosquitoes decided to all converge on me. All comments welcome!

Beautiful light with a very nice reflecting surface on the water. I like the little red blooms down in front just popping out as a visual treat.

Too bad the skin divers were such a notable feature of your journey.

Nice composition and great sunset. It looks like you used a GND to hold back the sky and it affected the mountain tops also. You might want to lighten those up a bit.

Thanks for commenting Alan, Jim, and Ben! I didn't use any filters, but I can see what you're talking about. I'm not sure why, but the raw seems to show this as well. I quick brush stroke and shadow adjustment fixed it. :)

Hey Tim, what a super cool shot! Is this Minaret Lake? I have yet to get to that one.

What a great way to start off your trip!

It’s funny, as I have been hiking and camping in the San Juan mountains in Colorado the one thing I really noticed was the lack of mosquitoes here. I guess they all flew to California.

Thanks for the comments everyone! Jim: it is Minaret Lake, and it had a pretty good wildflower display and some good foxtail and tamarack subjects.
