I have a couple from this morning, I believe Jim and the others were up at the beaver pond. I choose this location for the more complete reflection and fall color.

    CC welcome

I like the location you chose. The reflections and view of the mountains is much better than the far end of the beaver pond where I was shooting.

Nice work Ben. The benefit of your position is you get a much clearer view of the mountains and their reflections.

It's funny, maybe I have just been oblivious to it all these years, but I have never taken where I and the others shot from as a Beaver Pond. In my mind the Beaver Ponds are the areas between where you shot and we shot.

    Thanks Douglas

Thanks Alan. The nature of this area has changed over the years and from year to year. This year both places had low water and high weeds.

Thanks Jim, I am using this in the way I have heard it before, not sure I am right, but I suspect all of these including the above shot are the result of beaver work.

Very nice Ben. I've always coveted the classic Beaver pond shot, but I have to agree at this point that this is the better location.

Lovely. It's funny how many pictures I've seen from this area now, but I never visited it when I lived there, or came for a week or two many years to climb.

    Thanks Jameel

    Thanks Amy

Thanks Kyle. I think both locations have lost some charm from years past.

I know what you mean, I visited the High Sierras at least twice a year for 30 years and never owned a camera.
