Red Rock Canyon had some nice blooms when I went through the area a few weeks ago although nowhere near the types of carpet bloom displays shown on this forum in recent days. Still a good display for a desert environment as arid as this place can be.

    C&C always welcome.

I hope these are still around next Sunday morning as we will fly into LV and hole up for a night on our way to Zion.

Thanks - for the record this is Red Rock Canyon State Park in California and not Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area near Las Vegas. There were a lot of Joshua Trees getting ready to bloom in the latter park near LV and it looked like a lot of other desert plants getting ready to bloom as well. I visited that park on a rainy day several days after going through the CA park.

Very nice Alan. The high desert is still in bloom as I can attest too.

    Hey Alan,

It seems like there's a Red Rock _______ State ______ in every state in the southwest :). I like that you have such plant variety in such a small space. Well seen!

Actually, I googled Red Rock Canyon to make sure I was thinking of the right place (I think there is something with Red Rock in its name in Colorado as well) but the first page of results were all LV. :)
