I had already decided to concentrate on locations that do not require a pass, campsite fees or any other permissions.

Being pretty much self contained, I can do 3 day trips with no other transaction than pumping gas. No motel, no restaurant required. No groceries or ice or other supplies.

My range is about 3 days and 300 miles which fits my reduced needs at this time in my life, some places are under 100 miles.

Being a natural urban hermit, I am pretty much isolated for most of the time anyway, just trips to the stores, doctors and most days I never leave the house.

This does not work for everyone and we may end up being confined to our homes, and if so I will conform, but I think I am a minimum risk to others.

But I am still looking forward to meet ups and have no qualms with them. Might have to forego restaurants if they are closed, but if open, I plan to use them as the rest of the group desires.

I had to think about this a lot on the trip I just got back from today. Fuel and groceries was the closest contact I had with anybody over the past week plus so workable social isolation is not all that hard to achieve for our hobby. I was able to wash my hands after both the stores and the fuel station attendants (Oregon doesn't allow you to pump your own gas).

I would say in general Landscape Photographers have plenty of Social Distance. Any hand cleaning precautions you would take on a trip would be the same as you would if you were home and had to make a trip to a store.

I am watching the weather and my mom to see when I can get back out. I hope later this week or next week. I don't know yet how far I will go. It could be just to Joshua Tree, Trona or Death Valley. It all just depends on the weather as I want to try to get a night or two in of Deep Space Photography along with some great sunsets and sunrises. A lot to ask for, but it worked out nicely a few weeks back in Joshua Tree that way.
