Thought this one would make a nice focal point at dusk with the waves laying claim it.

Nice find - I really like the second and third shots with the waves actively washing over the decks.

Hey Terry, I like this ship wreck. That’s interesting to hear that there are multiple wrecks. We have nothing here in Southern California, and perhaps none along the whole coast of California. One has to go all the way up to Oregon to find a ship wreck here, and it’s in a protected harbor area, so it’s more of a sunken ship then a ship wreck. Maybe Alan knows of some.

one suggestion for all 3 images, I would brighten the lower left in all of them. That corner seems too dark and that darkness spreads to the ship. I think a little more detail would add to the interest. Sometimes when it gets dark, depending on where the sun had set and our angle to it, the edges of the photos can drop off in light significantly. Opening up our fstop can add to that even more. If you had added some vignetting while processing I would limit it to the sky.

I like the clouds a lot In #1. It’s great getting that color, but of course the water pouring over the ship wreck in #2 and 3 is pretty special in my book.

Thanks for those pointers Jim. Got some stormy weather moving in so could be interesting conditions for another crack at it.

Terry, you already got some good comments on a great set of images, But 2 is the best in my opinion, I like the way the water is pouring off the deck better than in 3.

Love those last two! The water pouring over the deck is awesome.

I have often wondered why my photos come off the camera sometimes with a dark vignette - thanks for the tip, Jim! I have a hard time removing that vignette in post, which is frustrating. I usually have my aperture wide open in low light, so I'm not sure if it can be avoided. If I have some light to work with (ie. a reasonable shutter speed), I usually keep my fstop one step from all-the-way open in order to prevent edge distortion (haven't verified how much that is actually working) but will keep this in mind for next time I'm shooting in those conditions.

Superb. I like all 3 for different reasons. First has best sky, second has amazing wave action that really makes your title ring true, and 3rd has second best waves and second best sky combined. I would pick that 3rd one if I had to pick a favorite between the 3.
