Hope you weren't expecting some big scene of drifting sand :)

Another scene from the valleys between the dunes at the mouth of the Umpqua River near Winchester Bay on the Oregon coast. It may be almost endless sand dunes surrounding this place but in the protected pockets between the dunes the coastal rain forests take over the exposed surface. The only traces of stones I could see were bits of gravel laid down on the trails by the park rangers.

    C&C always welcome.

Well you sure gave me a swerve Alan. I don’t see even a trace of sand. :(

This is a nice pocket of green.

Thanks for the comments - I have to confess that I was thinking about a post with a title like this from the moment I was spreading my tripod legs. Not quite what you would expect within a couple hundred yards of a sand dune field typically inhabited by ATV riders on a summer day.

Neat! My first impression when the image loaded was that it was a perfect reflection in the water with the mossy branches being reflected from above. Not sure why I felt this way but that's what my brain told me.
